The demand for flexible office spaces has changed the way companies think about work environments. Businesses today are no longer looking only for desks and meeting rooms — they want spaces that combine flexibility, comfort, design, and employee wellbeing.
That idea became the foundation behind Desk&Co, a new coworking concept created by The Office Company on the western side of Zagreb.
Located inside the fully renovated TOZ complex, Desk&Co was designed as more than a traditional coworking office. The goal was to create a premium business environment where ergonomics, aesthetics, flexibility, and community all work together to improve the daily work experience.
Building a workspace around modern work habits
Hybrid work, remote teams, and flexible business models have created new expectations for office spaces. Companies want:
adaptable office solutions
high-quality work environments
shared collaboration areas
professional infrastructure without long-term commitments
The Office Company recognized this shift early and developed Desk&Co as a response to the growing demand for flexible office leasing in Zagreb.
The result is a modern coworking hub with:
227 workstations
55 fully equipped offices
shared work and relaxation zones
premium business club areas
meeting and networking spaces
bike storage, showers, and private parking
optical internet infrastructure
All integrated into one flexible workspace ecosystem.
Why Haworth furniture was central to the concept
One of the defining elements of Desk&Co is its use of premium Haworth office furniture throughout the space.
As the official Haworth representative in Croatia, The Office Company built the coworking environment around the idea that office furniture directly impacts productivity, comfort, and employee wellbeing.
Modern workers spend long hours at their desks, which makes ergonomics essential rather than optional. Haworth products are globally recognized for combining:
ergonomic performance
minimalist design
workplace flexibility
long-term comfort
collaborative workspace solutions
Instead of filling the space with standard office furniture, Desk&Co was designed to create an experience similar to premium corporate headquarters while maintaining the openness and flexibility of coworking.
Design that encourages productivity and community
One of the biggest challenges in coworking design is balancing privacy with collaboration.
Desk&Co combines:
private offices for focused work
open coworking areas
quiet zones
informal lounge spaces
a fully designed business club
This creates a workplace that supports different work styles throughout the day.
The business club became one of the standout features of the project. Rather than acting only as a lounge, it was designed as a networking and social hub where entrepreneurs, startups, and companies can connect naturally.
This community-focused approach reflects broader global coworking trends, where companies increasingly value interaction and culture alongside functionality.
Bringing premium coworking to western Zagreb
Desk&Co also filled an important gap in Zagreb’s coworking market.
Many coworking spaces are concentrated in or near the city center, while professionals living or working in western Zagreb had fewer premium options available. Reddit discussions from local users frequently highlighted demand for quality coworking spaces in the western part of the city, especially spaces with parking, strong infrastructure, and a more comfortable atmosphere.
By opening inside the TOZ complex, Desk&Co introduced a modern business environment in a quieter and more accessible location while still remaining well connected to the city.
A new standard for flexible workspaces
The Office Company approached Desk&Co as a complete workplace experience rather than simply a coworking rental concept.
By combining:
flexible office models
premium interior design
ergonomic Haworth furniture
hospitality-inspired shared spaces
strong infrastructure
community-oriented environments
Desk&Co positioned itself as one of the most modern coworking concepts in Zagreb. Multiple Croatian business and lifestyle media outlets described the project as a new standard for flexible office leasing and modern workspaces in the city.
